“I take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude to my family (including our Bonnie, a bearded collie) during our early years – for the patience and understanding (sometimes) of the passion I placed in my total commitment to bringing true medicine to our lives and the lives of others.”
John first became interested in homeopathy in the late 1970’s. He was told that the family pet, Bonnie, would soon die. With his knowledge of herbal medicine he asked for the thoughts of the veterinary surgeon about treating Bonnie in this way. “Call me back later – I will talk to a friend who is interested in homeopathy”. He had not even heard of the word before. “My friend suggested that you give him arnica”. This saved Bonnies’ life and he was suddenly awakened to a ‘new truth’.
In Johns’ search for further knowledge he contacted Ainsworth’s Pharmacy, who were most helpful, particularly John Ainsworth. I was also greatly motivated by Tony Pinkus, the current owner of Ainsworths Pharmacy. Tony gave me great encouragement in my development of Cosmic Homeopathy.
“I struck up a relationship with George MacLeod, who was the most remarkable veterinary surgeon I have ever known. Mr Macleod offered me much help during Bonnie’s treatment – as did Catherine Drinkwater. Catherine was a lay homeopath who would do anything to help animals – and she was certainly the greatest influence in my early learning of homeopathy – I would spend many hours on the phone with her”.
He ‘inherited’ the position of Chairman of the North Staffordshire Homeopathic Group whose role was to promote homeopathy within the medical profession. This enabled him to attend many medical lectures, which introduced him to more doctors and their knowledge.
A recommendation by John Ainsworth would lead him to become a great friend of Dr David Smallbone, an exceptionally brilliant physician and surgeon, who is sadly no longer with us – this opened the door to much more knowledge.
Due to a lack of interest by local GP’s in supporting homeopathy John sought a way of qualifying himself. He was accepted by the College of Practical Homeopathy, qualifying 4 years later and then completing the post-graduate year. This was a remarkable experience, studying under David Howell, Dr Christopher Hammond and Robert Davidson.
He was invited by Swami Ananda to assist practitioners at Soham Sanctuary in Johannesburg – and to learn about the work of Swami Narayani, who developed a series of combination remedies. He was appointed to treat local patients. There was a condition whilst working within Swami Narayani’s system – all employed practitioners were expected to have the ability to dowse, using a pendulum.
John was accompanied by Mary Madden LCPH – and he expresses much gratitude for the total support she gave him. Their work would take them to some dangerous townships where the ‘welcome mat’ could differ somewhat, depending on the attitudes of each community.
Mary spent much time working in the pharmacy at Soham Clinic. John was requested to treat certain practitioners at Soham Sanctuary – and to teach them. He was later taken to Durban to treat local folk – and invited to make a presentation at the Temple at Reservoir Hills.
Some considerable time before the invitation to Johannesburg his world would open to Cosmic Homeopathy, which he developed. “I attempted to teach the practitioners there – but, sadly, they were not yet ‘ready’ for this system”
He was later attracted to the teachings of philosopher and scientist, Christopher Hills – and Radionics and dowsing.
“I was first introduced to dowsing when gifted a book by the remarkable Maurice Messegue, some 35 years ago”
“The work of Malcolm Rae, a genius of radionics, would also greatly influence my development in energy medicine”.
Lately John has advanced deeper into research of cell function relating to the ‘disease’ process. “Because we are made of cells, nothing other than cells (although, logically, there has to be an energy force driving the cells), I can only envisage there being a disease of the cell – if there is such a thing as ‘disease’. But, more to the point – there is definitely an ‘ill person’ – a person whose whole body is not balanced from a functional point of view. I try to find the cause of this dysfunction and correct it – returning the body to an energetically balanced state – back to a state of being ‘at-ease’, not remaining in the state of ‘dis-ease”.
John has committed his life to the promotion of homeopathy and energy medicine generally. He became further inspired by the works of Malcolm Rae, Dr Guyon Richards, (a surgeon who became greatly interested in radionics and dowsing) and lately Dr George Laurence MRCS, LRCP, FRCS (Edin) – who developed Psionic Medicine.
